Become a Member

Thank you for your interest in the U-SNAP Alliance. There are three types of membership available: Promoter Members, Contributor Member and Influencer Member. Please read the descriptions below to find the most appropriate level for your company.



Promoter Membership is available to those companies interested in leading the organization by sitting on the Board of Directors, leading committees, contributing specification development and approving final specifications. Promoter Membership is limited and subject to approval by the Board of Directors.

Promoter Member benefits include:
  • The permanent right to appoint a representative to a seat on the Board of Directors of the Corporation;
  • The right to be listed (with a hyperlink to the Member's website) as a Governing Member on the Corporation's website;
  • The right to access any and all portions of the Corporation's website and any electronic transmissions there from via reflector, including the right to access the Member-only discussion groups;
  • The right to have a representative appointed by the Board of Directors act as the chairperson of a Committee or a Work Group;
  • The right to review any and all specifications, including drafts thereof;
  • The right to approve final specifications;
  • The right to access Governing Member-only confidential information, including but not limited to the internal working documents of the Corporation;
  • The right to serve on and chair Committees and Work Groups hereunder. In addition to the foregoing, the Board of Directors may from time to time approve other benefits to which all Governing Members may be entitled;
  • The right to use logos in accordance with Corporate guidelines; and
  • The right to test and certify products for conformance.

Contributor Membership consists of manufacturers, suppliers and other companies interested in producing compliant products based on the specification. Contributor Members participate in the development and promotion of the specification through committees and work groups. Companies interested in Contributor Membership should complete a Membership Application and Participant Agreement.

Contributor Member benefits include:
  • The right to be listed (with a hyperlink to the Member's website) on the Corporation's website;
  • Use of designated Corporation logo at times that the Corporation has rights to use the Participant's logo;
  • The right to access select portions of the Corporation's website and any electronic transmissions there from via reflector, including the right to access select Member-only discussion groups;
  • The right to join and participate in the activities of the Work Groups of such Committee with such limited voting rights granted by the Board of Directors in Committee and Working Group proceedings in order to give them a voice in the development of specifications;
  • Complete access to all specifications, including drafts thereof;
  • The right to attend any general meetings of the Corporation; and
  • The right to test and certify products for conformance.
Companies interested in Contributor Membership should complete a Membership Application and Participant Agreement.



Influencer Membership consists of non-manufacturers such as utilities, regulators, consultants and academics interested in obtaining specification proposals and use of logos for marketing purposes. 

Influencer Member benefits include:
  • The right to be listed on the Corporation's website;
  • Use of designated Corporation logo at times that the Corporation has rights to use the Supporter's logo; and
  • The right to access select portions of the Corporation's website and any electronic transmissions there from via reflector, including the right to access select Member-only discussion groups;
  • The right to join and participate in the activities of the Work Groups of such Committee in order to give them a voice in the development of specifications;
  • Complete access to all specifications, including drafts thereof; and
  • The right to attend any general meetings of the Corporation.
Companies interested in Influencer Membership should complete a Membership Application and Participant Agreement.
